What is DAYA Recovery Living?
DAYA Recovery is a recovery living home based on the principles of yoga, including dharma (wisdom), sangha (community) and seva (service).
Who is eligible to live at DAYA Recovery?
We welcome anyone who is seeking the path of sobriety and who is committed to participating in a recovery community. A sober living environment essentially becomes your recovery community. Positive peer relationships with encouragement and accountability make a significant difference in your success. Community members both give and receive support by doing their best, every day; by being respectful and engaged.
Our program is ideal for those who have completed a residential treatment program and want a stable, supportive environment.
Due to the sensitive nature of a recovery home, we can not welcome individuals who have violent crime or sex offender criminal records.

How long can I stay?
The length of stay varies depending on each individual's needs. Residents may stay for 90 days, six months, or even a year. We encourage residents to stay until they are confident in their ability to bring their sobriety into their life and sustain it independently.
What does DAYA mean?
DAYA is a Sanskrit word that means Mercy or Compassion.

What are the living arrangements like?
The DAYA Recovery Living homes offer shared rooms with a safe, structured environment.
Each home is fully furnished, including kitchen, laundry facilities, common areas, library space, spaces for music or art, and outdoor spaces for residents to connect and support one another.
Linens, towels, and amenities are provided, such as shampoo, laundry soap, and cleaning supplies.

Are the homes co-ed?
No. The homes are designated specifically for either men or women.
Are meals provided?
Breakfast is provided. Other meals are not provided. However, we also provide the staples of a kitchen environment for the collective household. This includes bulk ingredients, cooking oil, spices, and other items that help residents to have ease in meal preparation.we do encourage communal meals. We also provide cooking classes and nutrition classes to support your brain and body during recovery. We encourage community meals. We have a weekly house dinner together.

Can I have visitors?
Yes. Visitors are allowed during designated hours. A request must be submitted with 48 hours notice. All guests must adhere to house rules. Overnight stays are not permitted.
Rules & Responsibilities
What are the house rules?
Residents must maintain sobriety. In support of each individual and the collective success of members of the house, residents must follow curfews, attend house meetings, contribute to household chores, and participate in recovery-based activities. A full list of rules will be provided upon move-in.
Our homes are non-smoking homes. We are partnering with Acadia NW to support residents with nicotine patches, gum, lozenges, or medication, such as Chantix.

What happens if a resident relapses?
We have a zero-tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use on the premises. We use regular testing to support residents to stay on their path to successful sobriety. If a resident relapses, they will be asked to leave. We will provide them with transportation to a safe place and with resources to seek further treatment.
Are there curfews?
Yes. The homes have curfews in place to promote safety, accountability and structure. Curfews are also a part of our Good Neighbor Policy.
Cost & Payments
How much does it cost to live at a DAYA Recovery Living Home?
Shared rooms are $900/month ($225/week). Rent includes utilities, WiFi, and access to all house amenities.
Do you accept insurance?
We are not able to accept insurance for rent. Some residents may be eligible for rent assistance programs or rent vouchers. We recommend checking with your insurance provider about possible reimbursements for outpatient recovery services. You can reach out to us directly about Rent Vouchers.
What are the payment options?
We use Sobriety App for all of our applications, client record keeping, and rent.
Recovery Support
Do I need to attend 12-step meetings?
There many forms of recovery meetings. While 12-step meetings are widely respected, we recognize that each person's sober journey is unique. We offer Dharma Recovery meetings onsite as well as virtual opportunities to attend SMART Recovery and Refuge Recovery within their national groups. (These are on Zoom.)
Are there house meetings?
Yes, we have weekly house meetings to help residents create community, stay accountable, discuss house matters, and support each other in recovery. We also have short daily check ins. A Community Counsel Meeting can be called when a need for support arises. This is comprised of residents as well as our program support staff.
Can I work or go to school while living at DAYA Recovery?
Yes! In addition to attending any PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) or IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program), we encourage you to seek employment, go to work, volunteer, or attend school as part of your recovery journey. Developing and maintaining a healthy routine is an important part of your success, both in sober living and in life.
Other Questions
Can I bring my pet?
No. We do not allow residents to bring their pets. We do have community resources for housing your pet while you are in a sober living environment. Please ask us for the contact information for this program.
Are you near to public transportation?
Yes. The 44 bus line is on Capital Hwy. The Barbur Blvd Transit Station/Bus Mall is within walking distance of the homes.
How do I apply?
We use Sobriety Hub for all of our applications, intake forms, record keeping, and rent payments.
